On-Site Lab

The on site lab has been in practice since 1950, a long standing addition to the services we offer, it enables us to keep as much of the manufacturing process as possible close to home. Quality glazing is at the forefront of the lab’s traditional values with high tech equipment the glazing methods have moved with the times yet still carrying forward hand finishing skills when needed.

Almost all of our spectacles are glazed in the lab, taken through a process of quality, precision and prescription checks in order to produce the best finished product. As well as glazing new pairs of spectacles if you want to re-use one of your own frames again this is also an option. Also the lab offers a same day appointment service to have your new lenses glazed into your own frame. In most cases this can be done in as little as one hour.

Alongside our skilled staff the lab technician is available for repairs and adjustments. Any repairs that are not able to be done in practice or the lab are sent to an outside company we have worked with for many years, with a repair and return time of about a week.
